Chinese Curry Sauce (Takeaway Style)
A great recipe for making a delicious Takeaway style Chinese curry sauce! Perfect for storing and adding to lots of different meals.
Moroccan Vegetable Tagine
This recipe uses chickpeas and potatoes instead of meat, and is a great alternative to my recipe for Moroccan Lamb Tagine. It’s not too hot and has a really deep and mellow spiced and slightly sweet flavour. Very tasty and ideal for preparing in advance.
Guacamole
My local greengrocer was selling some very ripe avocados so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to make my delicious guacamole.
It takes about 2 minutes to make and is perfect to have as a little snack or as an appetiser. You’ll just need to cut up some peppers, carrots or cucumber to dip in it! The yoghurt I’m using in this recipe is from the Total Fage (pronounced fa-yeh) range. It’s very creamy so is perfect to mix with my super-ripe avocado!
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
I had not heard of pulled pork until earlier this year. Typically, once you are acquainted with something, you see & hear of it all the time. So, I decided to look into this as it appears to be so popular. I read lots of recipes on the net and there are so many variations and stories about where and how it originated, I got completely confused at first and put it to the bottom of the list of dishes to try.
It kept playing on my mind though and I finally decided to give it a go…
Moroccan Lamb Tagine
There’s not many things better than a Moroccan lamb tagine – deep spicy flavour, with melt in mouth lamb and a rich thick sauce.
Authentic hummous
An authentic hummous recipe as copied from watching my Iraqi-born aunts do it in their kitchens. It will not resemble shop-bought stuff which reminds me of peanut butter, when it should be silky!
Sit and Wait Lemon and paprika beef
‘Sit and Wait’ dishes are the kind of recipes that require minimum expense and preparation, but offer maximum taste. Braised long and slow in the oven then simply reheated later on, they’re the homemade version of the ready meal
Chilli con carne
Spicy chilli with a nice deep flavour. Enjoy with or wraps and guacamole. Even better, have it in a jacket potato the day after.
Easy stir fry
This is a really easy stir-fry recipe that’s best served with rice or noodles. The best thing is you can substitute any of the veg you don’t like, with ones you do!
