Spyglass

Where the lights of Spyglass would normally be switched off and the staff in hibernation, there’s now a glowing tent serving tasty food, all the way to the end of the year.

Ginger & White

4a-5a Perrins Court, Hampstead, London, NW3 1QS t: 0207 431 9098 w: gingerandwhite.com I like small restaurants and cafes; the down to earth ones not many people know about or, if they’re known by many like my all-time favourite, Moro, the ones that have retained that non-chalance and familiarity that makes them all the more endearing. Gower Cottage Brownies

I open it eagerly and the chocolate aroma hits me as soon as I remove the first layer of paper. I rushed to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea to have alongside the first taste of what will be a weekend dedicated to working my way through some of the best brownies I have eaten in a while.

Choi Time teas review

Choi time teas

These teas are beautifully made and include a range of flowering teas - green tea leaves scented with jasmine and wrapped around flowers which gradually open out when you put them in hot water. They smell fantastic. They taste light, clean and floral. And they are a visual delight too.

Floyd’s Great Curries

I thought it wasn't possible to cook a really decent curry at home, but this book has helped prove me wrong. Covering Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, Malaysian, Egyptian and Indonesian, there's a large scope of recipes to discover and build upon.

French Desserts

The book is short and sweet at 63 pages, but it's all about quality, not quantity. It covers the main areas, light desserts, tartes, gateaux and basics - the recipe for sweet pastry is a great base to build upon, and add your own fillings too.

Moro

For every pretentious, celebrity-clad restaurant you find in London, you will have at least 2 under-stated gems that provide the city’s actual food lovers with so much joy and pleasure that leaving's difficult. Moro is one of these understated gems.

Yalla Yalla

Hidden behind the hustle and bustle of Wardour Street, away from the curious looks of the tourists and the lovers of “trendy” venues like Floridita or Imli, you can find Yalla Yalla: your next stop for authentic Beirut street food, in the heart of London.

Goldbrick House

It was more than a good meal. It was a great meal, the kind of meal that reminds you why you go out for dinner. I don’t mind now if it rains all winter, my car breaks down and I have to buy a new phone because I know that there’s somewhere in Bristol that can make it all OK

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

An honest, personal review of the Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Bristol's Cabot Circus. The burgers are amazing, but the location and staff need a little work. Best to order and take away!
