Popcorn: the new crisps?

If you believe the food marketeers, popcorn is supposed to be taking over from crisps. Not just any old popcorn either - gourmet popcorn. We try out the newest varieties from Metcalfe's and ask - do people really eat this as a snack after they've been to the gym (as the packet suggests)?

Mocha Pots

We just received a few bags of coffee beans from Puro, so created an elegant and rich Mocha Pot dessert, made with fair trade Puro coffee and dark chocolate. Try making it yourself, it's easy!

We tracked her down and asked her to share a recipe that features in it with us: Polish beef stew with buttermilk. It would be a crime to miss it (because she's a crime writer, natch)...

Rainbow cake

Rainbow cakes are fab! Stack them high in a rainbow of colours for a birthday cake to make your children say 'wow' or make them for a fun afternoon tea party. There are plenty of ways to make this cake your own; all you need are food colourings and a couple of sandwich tins. As tasty as a Victoria Sponge and as pretty as a picture...
