The Friday Wish List: Cooking for friends
It’s the return of our semi-regular feature all about lovely things for your kitchen. And to kick off our 2012 series, here’s five lovely things that make us think of spring days, friends and food.
1. Conran dipped mug, £7.50

We’ve chipped or stained most of our mugs and every time we have friends round I wish I didn’t have to give them a duff one. I’d love to offer coffee from stylish mugs like these.

2. Loveramics homeware, from £13

These curvy sauce boats are part of a lovely set from Occa Home with taupe and grey plates, teapots and mugs. I love the way they look, so tactile and warm.

3. Jinshi glasses, £8

These elegant blue-tinged wine glasses would be perfect for me this week, when I’m having a friend round for wine and gossip while Matt’s working in Birmingham.

4. Tea cosy kit, £12.15

I really need a tea cosy because I talk too much and forget to pour the tea sometimes so it goes cold. Pah! This strawberry one is great fun and it comes as a kit to make yourself.

5. Linea pie dish, £8.50

I love the Jamie Oliver ethos of cooking for friends – slap a big bowl in the middle of the table and encourage everyone to dive in. I’m always looking for a bowl that will look good and work as an oven dish too – like this one.
