Milkman 2.0 – modern milkmen do it better

When Laura’s brother visited us a couple of weeks ago, he thought he’d stepped back in time when he found proper classic old glass milk bottles in our fridge. But, as we told him, the milkman isn’t a thing of days gone by – the service we receive from milk&more is modern, reliable and eco-friendly and a model of how food delivery can be done.
We signed up with milk&more a couple of years ago when we moved into a new house and spotted that some of our neighbours had milk delivered. For people who were always running out of milk and having to trek down to the local Tescos, it was a godsend. We just filled out a simple form online and got bottles delivered three times a week so that it was there on the doorstep for our early morning coffee. It’s an easy way to do some quick grocery shopping online.

As a service, it really works. By having an intuitive website which allows you to change orders up to 9pm the night before deliveries, it actually works better than a lot of supermarket delivery websites. There’s no need for anyone to be in when they deliver (milk comes around 3am for us so we are usually there) and they’ve given us a handy cool box to keep milk fresh in on our doorstep. We also order eggs once a week, and there’s an array of other goodies including croissants, fresh fruit and orange juice that you can order too .
There are two small downsides – the cost is slightly more per pint than a supermarket pint, but we don’t mind this because we like to be green and hate having those plastic milk cartons clutter up our recycling. The old glass bottles are worth the extra couple of pennies and on top of that delivery is free. And we have had one incident where someone nicked our milk from our doorstep, but once in two years isn’t so bad.

We’d recommend having a look at www.milkandmore.co.uk and seeing if you can get milk delivered in your area. A lovely little touch online is that they tell you what your milkman is called. Ours is called Calbert – cheers, mate.
This is a sponsored post for milk&more but all the content is from us and is what we really think.

We use milk and more too and find it great. As I work from home and we live in a rural
location it saves the trek to the shops when we need milk. They even delivered in the snow and ice last year. Although it is slightly more per pint I think it’s worth it.
Yep, the service is very very reliable. Hasn’t let us down once in two years, and we have 3 deliveries a week!
I get a veggie box delivered every 2 weeks, but that’s as close as it comes. The last time I had a milk man he seemed to deliver at random!
