National Breakfast Week: 6th – 12th September 2010

We believe that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, and also one of the tastiest. So this year we’re happy to support Kelloggs with their National Breakfast Week, and also give you the opportunity to win some breakfast goodies!
Despite all the possibilities of a delicious breakfast, amazingly one in five adults, and one in six children skip breakfast regularly.
In fact, research shows that a shocking £656 million is spent each year by British children on a sweet shop breakfast of crisps and chocolates on their way to school, because they leave the house hungry.
The idea of National Breakfast Week is to eat breakfast every day of the week, even if you don’t normally. So roll up your sleeves, get out your frying pan and why not head to our breakfast and brunch section for some ideas on what to cook up. Even if you normally have breakfast every day, why not use it as an excuse to try cooking something new – after all, we all experiment with lunch and evening meals, and breakfast can get a raw deal.
If having breakfast at home is a bit difficult for your family, see if you have a local breakfast club by clicking here. Since 1998, Kellogg’s has worked with learning charity ContinYou to develop over 450 school breakfast clubs serving an extra 1,000,000 breakfast every year.
If you’d like the chance to win a great selection of Kellogg’s cereals, bowls and cups in a lovely hamper, just head on down to the comments and let us know – What is your favourite breakfast?
- 1st prize is a hamper containing Kellogg’s cereal, and a family set of limited edition bowls (as pictured)
- 6 runners up will get a National Breakfast Week bowl and a box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes

National Chocolate Week: 12th-18th October

My favourite breakfast currently is a bowl of cornflakes topped with a generous dollop of greek yoghurt with honey drizzled over it – so tasty and refreshing in the morning and love it so much that just the thought of it actually helps me climb from under my duvet in the mornings!
cornflakes with lots of sugar
Full English for me….but for every day I’m a crunchy nut fan.
I love my porridge with honey or alternatively crunchy nut cornflakes.
Got to be a good scottish fry up! Square Sausages, black pudding, potato scone and fried egg… i havent had won in ages!
My favourite breakfast is Croissants with strawberry jam (my husband gives me this in bed every Saturday morning) delicious!
Toast with plenty of butter and jam.
Despite being 26 I’m still a big kid at heart and always buy the Kelloggs variety packs and decide which box i’m going to have for what day of the week.
I wish you would do an adult variety though as Crunchy nut cornflakes are my absolute fave!!!
My favourite breakfast is weetabix, strawberry yougurt and some juicy watermelon with a chilled glass of fresh orange, lovely!
Kelloggs Sultana Bran and a cup of coffee to wake me up.
Porridge – a nice winter warmer.
My favorite breakfast is yogurt with fruit in it or cereal with bananas!
Ok, I might no longer be a spring chicken but ummm cocopops and cream (decadent, indulgent and completely luxurious) is my comfort food. Anyone come near my bowl and hear me growl!
