Julie & Julia: a movie for the food lovers and a DVD give away!
These are true stories too. Julia Child learnt to cook in Paris whilst looking for something to keep her days busy and Julie Powell set herself the challenge to cook her way through Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” in a year flat.
524 recipes in 365 days. Crazy? Not so much when cooking is the back door to your life, a way to collect yourself and your thoughts and move away from the every day worries; a way of discovering who you can be, what you can achieve and resurface from a thick and dull day-to-day life without seeming purpose.
The movie is funny, cringe worthy, tear-inducing and all you can expect from a guilty pleasure…With food!
Simply delicious and a must have for all food lovers, it’s now available on DVD including special features such as commentary by writer/director Nora Ephron, the behind-the-scenes featurette “Secret Ingredients: Creating Julie & Julia,” featuring interviews with the cast and crew AND a cut-down version of the original cookbook, with all the recipes featured in the film and then some more.
In fact, I feel so strongly about the movie that we have teamed up with Sony Pictures and we are giving away a copy of the DVD!
How can you win your very own copy? Well, one of Julia Child’s most famous dishes was boeuf bourguignon – a hearty, delicious beef stew that touches the heart of whomever tastes it. But what is your best stew?!
Share the recipe, warm us up and bring a smile to our faces. You can either submit a recipe here on FFFY, or if you’re a food blogger you can post your recipe on your own blog. Just make sure you mention the competition and provide a link to this post!
The competition will end on the 8th April and Matt and I will choose the best recipe and the winner of the dvd.
We look forward to hearing from you!
